SUPERVISOR TRAINING PROGRAMS
The Southern Illinois Builders Association, Southern Illinois Construction Advancement Program and the Southern Illinois Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee will sponsor five STP Classes. Below is a list of what Units will be available and when/where they will be held:
STP UNIT #5 – PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
Topics discussed include: Introduction to Planning and Scheduling; Preparing the Project Plan; Communicating the Plan; The Critical Path; Computer Scheduling I and II; Using the Schedule on the Jobsite; Updating the Construction Schedule; The Schedule as Documentation; and Using Planning and Scheduling.
DATES: Starts February 12 and Ends February 23, 2008
TIME: Tuesday & Thursday Evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. & Saturdays, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon

STP UNIT #6 – UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGING PROJECT COSTS
This course includes the following sessions: Construction Estimates; Who Controls Project Costs; Reporting and Analyzing Actual Costs; Planning for Cost Control; Labor Cost Control; Controlling Subcontractors; Loss Prevention; Cost Control Strategies; and Post-Project Evaluation.
DATES: Starts February 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 2008

Topics discussed will include: Improving Productivity through Pre-Planning; “MORE”-Four New Skills for the Effective Supervisor; Personnel Management-Making the Job Look Like A Firm; Equipment Management for Productivity Improvement; Productivity Improvement and Planning and Scheduling; Managing Subcontractors; Quantifying Lost Labor Productivity; Record Keeping, Control, Changes and Defect Analysis; and Improving Productivity with New Technology.
